An uncommon cargo bike is attempting to vary the funeral enterprise in France.

The phrase “Corbicyclette,” which is a mixture of the French phrases for “harse” and “bicycle,” is the brainchild of Isabelle Plumero.

She runs a small funeral house known as “Heaven and Earth” in Paris.

Their new cargo bike is designed to take full-sized coffins rather than the standard motorized hearse.

“The Corbicyclette is to suggest a brand new ritual for the households I accompany, particularly within the cemetery,” says Plumero, including that it permits “a sluggish, silent, calm procession, to the rhythm of the steps of the individuals who stroll behind them and who make the procession.”
