Skoda Kamiq facelift scheduled for 2023

A Skoda Kamiq pre-production car is now being tested in Austria as the company aims to renew the model in 2023. The Kamiq has been on the market since 2019 and competes in the popular compact SUV market with the Hyundai Kona and SEAT Arona.

Following a variety of tests, we predict the engine range will remain the same as the current model. The most noticeable changes are to the aesthetics, with a revised grille design bringing the Kamiq closer to renewed Skoda models, which can be seen despite the concealment. Other changes include revised forms for the air intakes and front bumper, most likely to achieve higher aerodynamic efficiency and lower running costs.

The test vehicle also appears to have a freshly sculpted rear bumper, however it’s unclear whether this is a design update for each Kamiq or whether a specific specification was being tested. A brand new rear tail mild design may be used across the board.

Skoda Kamiq facelift

The current model’s diesel option was abandoned in favor of the 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines, which are expected to remain unaltered on the revised model. One of the Skoda Kamiq’s main advantages is its large boot and easy access, without some of the downsides of large SUVs, and they will remain intact for the facelift.

We anticipate seeing the new Kamiq appear in dealerships in 2023, and while prices are yet to be determined, it may require a modest premium over current technology trends, which start at £21,805. It is now available in SE, SE L Government, and Monte Carlo trims.
